VantagePoint Venture Partners has made notable venture capital jobs news with the announcement of two senior appointments.
Brad Mattson, an experienced engineer and entrepreneur, and Mark Platshon, who has experience as a chief executive officer, have joined the company as partners in its CleanTech practice.
Alan Salzman, VantagePoint's managing partner, said he was "extremely pleased" to welcome the two new appointments to the firm.
"Each has a proven track record of successful entrepreneurship and the demonstrated ability to commercialise transformative technologies," he said.
"They share our vision of investing in 21st-century technologies to develop the leading companies of the new energy economy that can tackle our most pressing global issues."
Mr Mattson has built up a reputation in the semiconductor industry and has been referred to as a "renowned visionary".
Having previously worked at Trident Capital, Mr Platshon spent 20 years as chief executive officer of a number of Silicon Valley businesses before taking a leap into the venture capital world.
VantagePoint Venture Partners announced in February that Robert Kennedy Junior had been appointed a venture partner in its CleanTech investment team.
